US Coast Guard search for missing boater 46 miles off Venice

VENICE – U.S. Coast Guard crews at Cortez Station, Clearwater Air Station and Coast Guard Diamondback and Shrike search the waters of Venice for a 69-year-old man who was said to have been overboard on Tuesday night, at around 46 miles off Venice.

Crews searched through the night and sailors with information can contact the Coast Guard on VHF Channel 16 radio.

The man fell overboard from a fishing boat, according to the coast guard.

At noon, the search continues and the Coast Guard searched for over 12 hours and covered 100 square miles of the Gulf of Mexico.
