MARQUETTE — Boy Scout Troop 302 invites young men finishing grade five and up to join its year-round outdoor program. This summer, the troop will be at Camp Hiawatha from July 24-30. In August, the troop’s Grand Trek will consist of a canoe trip on the Fox and Manistique rivers from August 8 to 12. New members can participate if camping and swimming skills are sufficient. Upcoming monthly troop meeting themes are hiking and backpacking, paddle sports, fishing, scuba diving and orienteering. If this is how you would like to spend your free time this summer, you are invited to meet Troop 302 on Monday at 7:15 p.m. at the gymnasium attached to St Michael’s Catholic Church at Près Isle and Kaye Avenues. You can practice some Scouting skills, including crossing a rope bridge. RSVPs are encouraged and parents are strongly encouraged to attend with their son.
