The Standard, Hua Hin Opens Its Doors As The Brand’s First Resort In Thailand | To concentrate

The Standard, Hua Hin, the brand’s new resort and the first property in Thailand, has officially opened its doors to local and international guests. With 178 rooms and suites, 21 pool villas, a beachfront location and timeless design, The Standard, Hua Hin will be the destination of choice for the Thai creative ensemble and global devotees of The Standard. Visitors can immerse themselves in unique dining experiences at three on-site restaurants, as well as rejuvenating spa services that blend the traditional with the alternative.

“An extraordinary amount of care and thought has gone into every detail of this property. From its location to the architecture, scenery and design to our food, cocktails, music, art, uniforms and scents, ”said Amar Lalvani, Executive Chairman of Standard International. “We’ve mixed the understated elegance of Hua Hin with The Standard’s playful approach to hospitality. There is nothing like the experience we have created anywhere in Thailand.

Beach adventures
Standard, Hua Hin occupies the city’s most scenic beaches with plenty of activities available on the property for singles, couples, and families. In addition to traditional water sports such as paddle boarding and kayaking, the resort offers wakeboarding and kitesurfing as well as the option of lying by the pool all day. You can also explore the beach on horseback, a Hua Hin tradition, or work out while playing beach tennis. An hour before sunset, our in-house DJ plays tunes to complement the sunset and pre-dinner cocktails.

Dine in style
Open all day, the Lido Restaurant and Bar is our Italian-inspired restaurant with year-round alfresco dining that turns into an intimate dining experience in the evening. The carefully crafted menu centers on rotisserie-grilled meats and local seafood, as well as classic pizzas and paninis. Guests will find marinated porchetta and succulent wood-roasted whole chicken, grilled seafood and a selection of perfectly al dente pasta dishes accompanied by a carefully curated international wine list.

For beachside dining, the property’s immaculately restored heritage home has been reimagined as a Praça Restaurant, serving traditional Thai family-style fare accompanied by handcrafted cocktails. Praça’s idyllic beachfront location and thoughtful design create an intimate atmosphere perfect for connecting with friends and family. On the menu, diners will find traditional Thai dishes with a modern twist that showcase ancestral recipes and ingredients indigenous to the region. Visitors can also book Chef’s Table experiences, pop-up dinners and beach bum picnics by the water.

As patrons stroll through the garden, they are invited to the Juice Café, which offers a selection of coffees, fresh squeezed juices, smoothies, elixirs, ice cream and freshly made treats. The café terrace is perfect for early risers to read the newspaper with their perfectly brewed cappuccino and get ready for the day.

Sustainable well-being at the Spa
The Standard, Hua Hin is inspired by the Standard Spa, Miami Beach, and has designed experiences around well-being and invigorating the senses. All in an effortless, attractive and fun environment. The Spa offers a serene yet colorful setting where guests can choose from a variety of treatments that often incorporate traditional Thai elements, but also fun moments such as the Mud Lounge where guests can smear themselves in healing clay or the Monk Lounge that offers soothing stimuli after spa sessions as well as phosphorescent lunar yoga.

The team of experts go beyond treatments for deeper healing to nourish and calm clients’ minds, offering private therapy sessions, meditation and breathing. Energy healing practices with crystals and quartz are incorporated to unblock the chakras and leave guests balanced. In addition, the vibrations of the ceremonial singing bowls filled with water relieve anxiety and stress and promote REM sleep.

Hollywood glamor meets casual Miami design
Lush scenery with a dose of Frank Sinatra nostalgia, The Standard, Hua Hin is nestled on Hua Hin’s most famous strip of beach. Built on the site of the first residential property ever built along Hua Hin Beach, the resort achieves a seamless design continuity between the region’s rich history and the brand’s mid-century design roots. The property occupies a prime location where guests are never more than a few steps from the ocean.

The design, overseen by Standard’s in-house design team and in partnership with Onion Architects, Studio Freehand, and Shelley Kwok Design, pays homage to Standard’s first waterfront hotel, The Standard Spa, Miami Beach. The lush landscape and tropical surroundings provide an ever-present natural backdrop. At the heart of the development is the carefully restored Heritage House, a period structure that follows the traditional vernacular architecture of the area, reimagined as a Thai izakaya restaurant and rooster bar, Praça. This careful combination of Hua Hin’s old world charm with international sensibility creates an incredible juxtaposition of modern and historic, architectural and organic, local and outward looking.

A beloved retreat
A beloved getaway dating back to 1911, Hua Hin became a destination when construction of the railway that connects Bangkok to the south first arrived in the small, pristine seaside town. In the mid-1920s, it had become the resort of choice for the nobility. Over time, the sleepy fishing village has evolved into a popular seaside destination without losing its old world charm. Today, Hua Hin is a favorite weekend getaway for Bangkok residents who have been expecting exactly what The Standard promises to offer: a stylish and vibrant beach resort. One who respects Hua Hin’s low-key Thai elegance, appreciates the history and the local setting, and combines it with an overall sensibility and a bit of fun.

Standard, Hua Hin has just announced two special opening offers.
