TARPON BAY EXPLORER Wildlife admirers paddle through the mangrove forests of Tarpon Bay.

During the month of September, Tarpon Bay Explorers will be offering a 25% discount to residents of Lee, Charlotte and Collier counties on all rentals and tours.

Paddle a kayak through the mangrove tunnels of Commodore Creek. Ride a rental bike along Wildlife Drive in the heart of JN “Ting” Darling National Wildlife Refuge, or look for dolphins and manatees on a paddleboard. Fishing opportunities include pontoon boat rentals, fishing charters, and Hobie pedal kayaks. Discover the local flora and fauna with a guided tour, led by a skilled and insightful naturalist.

“We hope residents will come and take advantage of the discounts,” Manager Adam Sauerland said. “The island is a great place for a day trip, and we have a gem on the island for fun water and land activities.”

Locals can also launch their own craft from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a small fee.

Rental of kayaks, canoes, paddle boards and bicycles: first come, first served from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hobie fishing kayaks and pontoon rentals require a reservation. Reservations are recommended for tours.
