The Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy and the Cassadaga Lakes Association will hold their annual meeting “Paddles Through the Lakes” event on Saturday, September 10, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Paddlers are encouraged to bring their kayaks and canoes for this leisurely non-motorized watercraft excursion on Cassadaga Lakes, which will include a visit to the Fern Wetland Reserve. Island, a 12.5 acre nature reserve jointly managed by CWC and CLA. The paddle will begin at 6:30 p.m. and start and end at Cassadaga Beach. Personal flotation devices (life jackets) are required by state law. Kayak rentals can be made through Evergreen Outfitters, with reservations for rentals required in advance by calling 716-763-2266. The event is free for CWC and CLA members, with a suggested donation of $5 per person or $10 per family for non-members. For more information, contact the Cassadaga Lakes Association.
