Operation Mackay-Kayak, Dysart – Mackay

On November 4, Dysart Police conducted a series of law enforcement activities as part of a targeted operation named Mackay-Kayak.

These activities caused a number of people to ascend the creek without paddling.

Through both mobile and static law enforcement activities, 220 breathalyzers and three drug tests were completed.

These tests enabled a 32-year-old woman from Dysart to appear in Mackay Magistrates’ Court on January 6, 2022 for allegedly driving with a relevant drug present in saliva or blood.

Search warrants were executed at five addresses for suspected drug offenses, leading to the detection of numerous offenses.

A 45-year-old man from Dysart is scheduled to appear in Mackay Magistrates’ Court on November 24, on charges of possession of dangerous drugs, possession of utensils and possession of items used in connection with a drug-related offense.

A 21-year-old Dysart woman and a 22-year-old Dysart man are scheduled to appear in Mackay Magistrates’ Court on November 22, in connection with charges of possession of utensils used in connection with the consumption of a dangerous drug.

A 54-year-old Andergrove man is scheduled to appear in Mackay Magistrates’ Court on November 22, on charges of possession of dangerous drugs and possession of utensils used to smoke a dangerous drug.

A 75-year-old man from Dysart is scheduled to appear in Mackay Magistrates’ Court on November 24, on charges of possession of dangerous drugs and possession of utensils used to smoke a dangerous drug.

InInvestigations are continuing into the property seized as evidence and further charges are expected to be brought.
