As we celebrate National Hunt and Fish Day on September 25, I encourage you to take advantage of the many outdoor recreation opportunities our state has to offer. Florida enjoys public access to a wide range of hunting, fishing, boating, and wildlife viewing activities. We’re the boating and fishing capital of the world, but did you know we also have one of the largest wildlife management area systems in the country?

In 1972, Congress established the fourth Saturday in September as a special day to honor hunters and anglers for their leadership in conserving America’s fish, wildlife and wild places by continually participating in these outdoor activities. air.

The hunting, fishing, boating, and shooting sports industries contribute to the federal sport fish and wildlife restoration program, resulting in millions of dollars annually for each state agency in order to finance the scientific conservation of fish and fauna and the improvement of navigation possibilities.
