Maritime patrol in search of missing man following boating accident on Lake Martin

TALLAPOOSA COUNTY, Alabama (WRBL) – A search for a missing boater is underway following a boating accident on Lake Martin in Tallapoosa County.

According to the Alabama law enforcement agency, the Marine Patrol Division is looking for a 24-year-old Colorado man after a single-ship boating accident Thursday afternoon.

Authorities say the crash happened around 1:00 p.m. on the water near the Willow Point golf course.

Members of the ALEA Marine Patrol Division, along with the Alexander City Fire Department and the Alexander City Rescue Team are searching for the man, who was a passenger on the ship.

TALLAPOOSA COUNTY – Soldiers from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) Marine Patrol Division investigate a boating accident on Lake Martin that left a man missing. The accident happened around 1 p.m. Thursday, September 2 in Tallapoosa County, near the Willow Point golf course. Researchers from the Alexander City Fire Department and the Alexander City Rescue Squad are currently on the scene looking for a 24-year-old man from Colorado, who was a passenger on the boat. Nothing more is available as soldiers from ALEA’s maritime patrol division continue to investigate. .
