Meetings

¯ The Ohio Valley Educational Services Center Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting at 1 p.m. Thursday at the OVESC Cambridge office, 128 East 8th St., Cambridge. The purpose of this meeting is to approve a contract for the replacement/repair of the roof at the Cambridge office. A link for virtual attendance will be provided closer to the meeting date via Ohio Valley ESC social media and the Ohio Valley ESC website.

¯ The Reno Area Water and Sewer District will hold its regular meeting at 6 p.m. April 19 at the Reno Water Office Building, 170 Mount Tom Road. The public is welcome. Safety distance will be practiced and masks are requested due to COVID.

¯ Belpre Township Trustees will hold regular meetings on the first Monday of every month at 335 Baker Road, Little Hocking. These meetings are open to the public. For more information, contact the administrators at the township office, 740-423-6366.

¯ The Township of Grandview will hold regular meetings at 6:00 p.m. on the first Monday of each month at Town Hall. There are exceptions: the July and September meetings will take place on July 11 and September 12.

¯ The Township of Muskingum will hold regular meetings at 7:00 p.m. on the first Monday of each month with these exceptions: Wednesday, March 2; Wednesday July 6; and Tuesday, September 6. Odd-month meetings are held at City Hall and even-month meetings are held at the Oak Grove Fire Department.

¯ Palmer Township will hold meetings at 7:00 p.m. on the first Monday of each month at the Palmer Community Building, 7153 SR 676. There are two exceptions: July and September meetings will be July 7 and September 8. End of year meeting to be determined.

¯ The Marietta High School Class of 1955 will hold meetings at 11:30 a.m. on the second Monday of each month at the Harmar Tavern, 205 Maple Street. All classmates and friends are welcome.

¯ Liberty Township will hold regular monthly meetings at 7:00 p.m. on the second Monday of each month.

¯ Warren Township Trustees will hold meetings at 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at the Township Office, 95 Coffman Road, Marietta.

¯ The Village of Lower Salem will meet at 7:00 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month in the village hall for regular council meetings. Local residents are invited to attend.

¯ The Township of Decatur will hold its monthly public meetings on the second Tuesday of each month at the Township building on Welch Road in Cutler.

¯ The Waterford Township Board will meet in regular session at 7:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month in 2022 at the Township Building.

¯ Lawrence Township will meet at 7:00 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month at the Little Muskingum Volunteer Fire Department.

¯ The Washington County Coeducational Vocational School District School Board will hold regular monthly meetings for 2022 at 6 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month in the Council Chambers of the Annex Building. The June meeting will take place on June 9 and/or 27, and the July date is to be determined.

¯ The Township of Ludlow will hold regular monthly meetings on the last day of each month at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall.

¯ Mid-Ohio Valley Citizens Action Coalition will meet the second and fourth Mondays of each month at Freedom Gate Church, Tennis Center Road, Marietta. Check the organization’s website for more information.

¯ The Watertown Township Board of Directors will hold their regular monthly meetings in 2022 at 6:30 p.m. on the second Monday of each month at the Watertown VFD.

Events

¯ The Township of Salem will hold its annual spring cleaning days Friday and Saturday at the Salem Township Gravel Quarry.

¯ St. Mary’s Catholic School, 320 Marion Street, will host a Lenten Fish Fried from 5-7 p.m. Friday. The meal includes fried or baked fish, green beans, fries or baked potatoes, a roll, and applesauce or coleslaw. Dine in or take away.

¯ The Relay for Life Cancer Kickers quarterly auction fundraiser will be held Saturday at Marietta VFW, 319 Pike St. Doors open at noon and bidding begins at 1 p.m. The first paddle is $5 and additional paddles are $2. ¯ Evan Cunningham Music and Lambda Chi Alpha of Marietta College will team up to fight hunger with music at 8 p.m. Saturday in the Great Hall at Andrews Hall. Tickets are $5 in advance or $6 at the door. T-shirts will be available and can be bundled with a ticket for $15. All proceeds benefit Feeding America. ¯ VFW Post #5108 at 319 Pike St., Marietta, will host a breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. The cost is $7 per person.

¯ The Washington Republicans will host a Lincoln Day dinner on April 14 at the Marietta Shrine Club. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be Ohio State Treasurer Robert Sprague. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased from any committee member or by calling 740-336-4750 before April 5.

¯ Marietta Community Church will be sponsoring a community egg hunt from 10 a.m. to noon on April 16 at Flanders Field in Harmar. Children up to 12 years old are welcome to participate.

¯ VFW Post #5108 at 319 Pike St., Marietta, will fundraise for a baked steak dinner from 5-6 p.m. April 20. The cost is $8 per person. For takeout or more information, call 740-374-9038.

¯ O’Neill Center will sponsor a group trip to The Ark & Newport Aquarium on April 25-26. The cost is $335 per person based on double occupancy. The trip includes entrance to the Ark, dinner at Emzara’s Kitchen buffet, overnight at a hotel in the area, and a hot breakfast. The charter bus will depart from ¯ Marietta Lowe’s. ¯ Marietta’s Earth Day celebration will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 23 at Armory Square. The event will feature live music, crafts, green technologies, exhibits and demonstrations for children and adults. Trash to Art Show registrations must be brought to the Square table by 10 a.m.

¯ VFW Post #5108 at 319 Pike St., Marietta, will host a Sunday breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on April 24. The cost is $7 per person.

¯ The Creston Community Building Spring ATV Poker Run will be held on April 30 at 340 Anns Run Road, Creston, W.Va. Registration is from 9 a.m. to noon and the entry fee is $10. ¯ The O’Neill Center 2022 Quarter Auction fundraiser will take place on June 24. The event will feature a 50/50 draw, concessions and additional paddles for sale. ¯ The Humane Society of the Ohio Valley is hosting its 300 Club fundraiser. There will be a weekly draw for $100 for 51 weeks, with a final draw for $500.
