How to get the fishing rod
Clumsy likes fishing a lot, that’s what he does most of the time he walks in the valley. You will have to talk to him to get the rod. The Fishing Rod is one of the royal tools you will need to collect, but to get it you will first need to find Goofy’s Lucky Fishing Rod.
Goofy’s lucky fishing rod can be found south of Goofy’s stall, just off the path that leads to the small pond. Pick it up and bring it to Goofy. Although it appears to be broken, he will notice that it is simply stuck with seaweed.
Since he got his lucky fishing rod back, he won’t need the one he found anymore – so he’ll give it to you. This is the fishing rod that belonged to the Old Sovereign.
How to fish
When compared to Stardew Valley, fishing at Disney’s Dreamlight Valley is a snap. It’s definitely a much more laid back and relaxing experience. Without forgetting that it’s a magic fishing rod so it always has a bait! Here’s how fishing works in Disney Dreamlight Valley:
- First, you will want find a location with ripplesthis is where the fish hide
- Once you’ve found the perfect spot, open your tool wheel and select the fishing rod icon
- Cast a line by pressing and holding the “fish” button – holding it down longer will allow you to cast your line further
- Then, as soon as a fish bites, press the ‘select’ button

For example, since seaweed and sea bass are worth almost exactly the same, but sea bass have a much higher energy value, it may be useful to save the seaweed to sell and eat the sea bass when you run out of energy. energy.
How to Unlock Moana’s Fishing Boat
Moana is one of the first characters you can unlock in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Once you remove the large thorns at its entrance and gain access to the castle, you can finally enter the characters’ realms and take them back to the valley. This is exactly how you unlock Moana – you visit Moana’s kingdom, help her and Maui, then bring her back with you after placing her house.
As soon as you bring Moana back to the valley, you can talk to her right away and she will already have a quest for you – no need to increase your friendship level. She saw a broken down boat on the beach that can easily be fixed. After this interaction, you will start the quest “Fix the boat”. Moana needs your help to collect materials to repair the boat, this is what you will need to collect 50 softwoods, 70 fibers, and three pink hydrangeas
Softwood can be found almost everywhere in the meadow and in the square because there are trees and bushes everywhere. Fiber is made from seaweed, one seaweed can be made into five fibers – you may need to grind while fishing while avoiding ripples as these will always give you fish (unfortunately you will still encounter sea bass in fishing without aiming for the ripples.) And, finally, pink hydrangeas are scattered all over Dazzle Beach.
Once you get all the necessary ingredients, go to a crafting station and craft three rustic wooden crates, three baskets and four ropes. Give everything to Moana and she’ll repair the boat and turn it into a fishing boat in no time. This allows Moana to go out to sea and fish from time to time.
You can upgrade the boat three times by using the Scrooge McDuck panel next to it, once for 1,000 Star Coins, then for 2,000 Star Coins, and finally for 3,500 Star Coins. This will greatly improve her efficiency, meaning she will catch more fish, return them more often, and be rarer fish than before.
