Caroline Dawson, who created SUP Lass Paddle Adventures, a Water Skills Academy accredited SUP school based in Loggerheads, offers stand-up paddleboarding lessons, river adventures, coastal excursions, and safety sessions.

She also paddles competitively and recently finished second in the GB SUP Series Great Glen Challenge in Scotland.

Caroline said: “My passion is adventure and I love to offer clients more than just a basic lesson, I often serve hot chocolate or a cup of soup by the water. Seeing people attending the sessions was wonderful, especially after the pandemic, seeing the paddlers laughing and having fun again was fantastic. “

Stand up paddle boarding involves participants using a paddle while standing or kneeling on a paddle board.

Caroline said, “Paddle boarding has grown tremendously over the last 12 months, it’s really popular. Denbighshire is a great area for adventure sports, they are popular with locals and visitors alike and there are so many businesses offering a wide range of adventure sports.

“Supporting local businesses and buying locally this Christmas is very important, it helps support Denbighshire’s economy and there is so much to offer.”

She added: “This is the perfect time of year to have a loved one who has everything something different. You can’t put a price on a memory with a loved one, a new experience or learning. of a new skill. It is something special and magical. Caroline and Llangollen’s ProAdventure are among a number of independent companies supporting the Denbighshire County Council’s #LoveLiveLocal campaign to encourage more people to support local businesses and buy local this winter.

ProAdventure opened in 1991 and is an outdoor adventure retailer that sells everything from tipi tents, bush craft supplies, outdoor clothing, and materials for cooking and living in comfort in the home. outdoors.

Peter Carol runs the business with his wife Lesley who is a trained mountain leader, qualified canoe river facilitator and Nordic walking trainer.

Peter, who has over 30 years of experience in outdoor adventure training and vacations, said: “Adventure sports are very popular in Denbighshire and we are seeing them grow. There is also a plethora of beautiful countryside to explore.
