To get a fishing license and a fishing rod, the two visitors you should worry about are Fletch and John. Fletch will sell you a fishing license; John has fishing rods for sale. However, both require a specific currency – Permit Points and Dinks, respectively.
- Talk to Fletch at the town hall. She will sell a fishing license for 250 license points.
- Talk to John now. With your new license, he will sell you a fishing rod for 1260 Dinks.
Permit points are awarded for completing milestones. These are often completed just by playing the game, such as catching a specific number of bugs, but you can always focus on completing these milestones to earn license points faster.
