While late vlogger Gabby Petito’s boyfriend Brian Laundrie remains AWOL, more and more theories regarding his disappearance are popping up on social media. The latest is the number of kayaks owned by her family, as opposed to what appeared to be a solo craft seen in her backyard via drone footage.
Laundrie has apparently not been seen since September 14 and was confirmed “missing” on September 17. This has led the police to search for Laundrie in the neighboring Carlton reservation, but so far without success. Laundrie, who allegedly hit and slapped his girlfriend last month according to a 911 call, returned home to Florida on September 1 without her after traveling across the country. Since then, Petito’s body has been discovered in a Wyoming park by authorities. Teton County Coroner Dr Brent Blue has confirmed the vlogger’s death was homicide, but the immediate cause of death is still unclear as police are still awaiting final autopsy results. Dog the Bounty Hunter has also joined the Laundry Research and shared information and tips he has found so far.

Dog says he had information #BrianLaundrie used a ‘kayak’
YouTuber Joseph Morris tweeted: “The dog says he had information #BrianLaundrie used a ‘kayak‘ at Fort De Soto. I wonder if the laundries had TWO kayaks before? (Based on recent drone footage) @BabyLyssaC “with a drone photo of the family yard laundromat where only one kayak was seen. Since then, Twitter user Nerdy Addict has searched him and found registration records that Brian’s father Christopher Laundrie has two personal watercraft registered to his name in the state of Florida. Apparently the Twitter user called North Port Police and they confirmed they were also interested in the solo kayaking mystery.
North Port Police called, they too are interested in this solo kayak. They have no problem with drone flying so I will go back after Fort De Soto. #BrianLaundrie

“The kayaks are probably stacked on top of each other”
While some people were convinced that only one kayak had been seen on the Laundrie property, others were of the opinion that the two kayaks were stacked on top of each other. “The kayaks are most likely stacked on top of each other,” one said, while another commented, “Someone showed a photo in another post of when the FBI invaded the house was there in the same place, so I think there is only one. ” A third noted: “I’m sure they had two … one for the parents and one for Gabby and Brian … plus there’s room for another kayak there … c ‘is possible.” The next one remarked: “If interest in kayaking is a real key to finding it – fbi and LE, what have you been doing ?????? #brianlaundrie.” Another said: “Do you have any idea why the police / FBI are now interested in this kayak when they presumably saw it while searching the house? #Brianlaundrie.” Another added: “The beginning of the video showed that the laundries had a kayak and it was hanging out in their backyards. Maybe that’s what Brian is hopping from island to island with.”

Do you have any idea why the police / FBI are now interested in this kayak when they presumably saw it while searching the house? #brianlaundrie

The beginning of the video showed that the laundromats had a kayak and it was hanging out in their backyard. Maybe that’s how Brian jumps from island to island.

Did Brian Laundrie kayak down the Myakka River?
Some people have also turned to Google Maps to plot possible waterways that Brian could have taken from his home if he had to travel by kayak. “It might sound like, but if you look on Google Earth / Maps and follow this narrow body of water very close to Laundrie’s residence, it eventually leads to the Myakka River, which then flows into the Gasparilla-Charlotte Strait, and so on. Are the laundries missing a kayak as well? ”one remarked, posting screenshots from Google Maps.
Another wondered how authorities missed the crucial detail as they investigated Gabby Petito’s death for weeks and made several visits to Laundrie’s family home. “How many times have the Sheriff’s Department and the FBI gone to these people and searched and stuff and they just want to know about a kayak in the backyard. It seems to me like that. ‘They don’t do a very good search when they go there,’ the user noted.
