Captain Michael Tucker has become the owner of TowBoatUS Lake Texoma.

“Joe had been teasing me good-naturedly for years, asking me when I was going to buy his TowBoatUS business because he and Roxan were planning to retire,” Tucker said. “It was a good time to become an owner,” he added.

Today, Captain Tucker and his father, Smokey, own and operate other maritime and hotel businesses in the area, including Lighthouse Resort and Marina, where TowBoatUS Lake Texoma’s five red response vessels are based. Others include Paradise on Lake Texoma and Sundance Camp, Island View Park, and charter company Fastrac Cruises.

TowBoatUS service on the lake offers 24/7 towing, battery jumps, smooth unloading and fuel delivery to boaters. “Due to the size and diversity of boating areas on the lake, very few people know the lake like our captains, who have over 50 years of cumulative towing experience,” Tucker added. Lake Texoma has some 6 million annual visitors with 19 marinas with a total of 4,000 boat ramps. It is also known as a sailing destination. “We can handle a wide range of watercraft,” he said. All of the company’s captains hold a US Coast Guard license.
