MANGALBARE: The boating service has resumed its activities at Lake Sriantu in the municipality of Suryodaya.

Boating had been suspended for two years due to the coronavirus pandemic as well as after certain problems arose between the municipality and the operator of private boats.

However, the municipality took the responsibility on its own initiative and put into operation a boat service on the lake to promote domestic and foreign tourism. Along with the view of sunrise and sunset, the boat ride will be another attraction for tourists visiting Sriantu.

At present, three boats are operating in the lake, said Mayor Ran Bahadur Rai. Stating that the boat was operated to entertain tourists coming to the popular tourist spot, Mayor Rai said, the boating service has been added to Antupokhari along with other tourist spots.

The municipality has allocated funds for the operation of boats on the lake while developing infrastructure in various tourist sectors in the region. Tourists will be charged Rs. 50 per person for boating on the lake. For the safety of tourists, 15 life jackets were also managed.
